Hi, I'm Scott Flaherty.
I’ve had a passion for nature for as long as I can remember. Early on in my life it was my desire to become a zoologist, but that was not to be. Instead, I wound up in the computer industry. I got my first job in the computer industry back in 1987 as a mainframe operator and I have spent most of the time since then as a Software Architect / Engineer. I’m now a Senior Software Architect / Engineer for a company in central Ohio specializing in healthcare systems.
Sometime in the year 2000, I bought a Fuji point & shoot camera that also allowed for manual operation. On a whim, I started to experiment with the exposures of my shots. It was at that time that I caught the photography bug and have been hooked ever since. In 2002 I bought a Nikon D100 DSLR camera. This is when my photography took a more serious turn, because this camera gave me the tools I needed to further explore and develop my own photographic style.
I’m now shooting with a Sony A9 II and a Sony A7R IV and tend to specialize in Landscape and Wildlife photography. As I approach retirement from my software development work (still several years away), I've begun to branch out into the Portrait and Travel genres.
